One Simple Step to Becoming A Happier Person

***LIVE IN THE MOMENT***

Point Blank, Easy as That!

HA not so easy. Our mind/ego sweeps us away, judging, criticizing, complaining, worrying, and the list goes on & on.

For most people it is hard for them to fully do a task without thinking about something else.

We sit at work planning our weekend, we listen to our boss in our meeting judging what he/she is wearing, and we watch TV worrying and attacking ourselves for not doing something else.

I have been actively feeling how I want to feel and being fully aware in the moment. When my boss is speaking I fully listen. I squash any other thoughts that come up. If I catch myself judging someone, I tell myself to let them be them and worry about myself.

I decide to do what I am doing every minute of the day. If I want to watch TV then I will be fully engaged it that. If I am doing work I would rather not be doing I make sure I am fully engaged so I can get it done faster. There is no point sitting there wishing you were doing something else. It still needs to get done, why not put all your energy into it, making the product come out awesome the first time.

When you are getting a pedicure, why be on your phone? This is an awesome time to be fully in the moment! Appreciate and really get the benefits from the massage that is given. Many times our phones take us out of the moment. When you are driving through a new city, do you not want to see all the buildings, people, etc?

Being in the moment makes you attractive! Marie Forleo taught me this one with her book: Make Every Man Want You!

When you are in the moment, you appreciate who you are with, you listen a little harder, and you are not worrying about how you look. Who wouldn't think that is attractive.

Become aware how your mind wanders off from the Now. Just becoming aware is the first step. Then try to concentrate on what is happening around you. Use your senses to bring you into the moment. What can you see right now, what can you hear, what can you smell, what do you feel?

At any time during the day you can ask those questions to bring you back to the only moment there is, Here, NOW.

Living in the moment, the now. I work on this daily. I am reading How to Live with Life by the Reader's Digest Association.
